Eveline Crone in Scientific Council ERC
Hoogleraar Neurocognitieve Ontwikkelingspsychologie Eveline Crone trad op 13 januari toe tot de Scientific Council van de European Research Council (ERC).
De Scientific Council is het beleidsorgaan van de ERC. Deze bestaat uit 22 wetenschappers die de Europese wetenschappelijke gemeenschap representeren. Als belangrijkste taken bepaalt de Scientific Council de strategie van de ERC en selecteert vakgenoten die peer reviews uitvoeren.
Eveline Crone is hoogleraar bij de Universiteit Leiden en de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Leiden University and at the University of Ams
terdam. Haar onderzoek richt zich op de hersenontwikkeling van menselijke cognitie en gedrag van kinderen en adolescenten. Sinds 2005 staat ze aan het hoofd van het Brain and Development Lab in Leiden, waar zo´n 25 wetenschappers onderzoeken hoe kinderen en adolescenten keuzes maken, en hoe dit in verband staat met hersenontwikkeling.
In 2008 publiceerde Eveline Crone het Nederlandstalige boek Het puberende brein . Ze ontving meerdere grote onderzoeksbeurzen, waaronder van de ERC en het NWO.
Eveline Crone in Scientific Council ERC
On January 13, professor of Neurocognitive Developmental Psychology Eveline Crone has been appointed to the Scientific Council of the European Research Council (ERC).
The ERC Scientific Council, composed of 22 distinguished scientists and scholars representing the European scientific community, is the governing body of the European Research Council. Its main role is setting the ERC strategy and selecting the peer review evaluators.
Eveline Crone is a full professor at Leiden University and at the University of Amsterdam. Since 2005, she is head of the Brain & Development Laboratory at Leiden University, in which approximately 25 researchers investigate how children and adolescents make decisions and how this relates to brain development. All of her work employs a developmental cognitive neuroscience approach, by using fMRI, ERP and autonomic measures in combination with experimental tasks. She obtained several large research grants from the Dutch NWO and the ERC.
