Important awards for Wim Meeus and Stefanie Nelemans

The European Association for Research on Adolescence (EARA) has awarded Wim Meeus and Stefanie Nelemans two major awards. Both focus their research on the development and behaviour of adolescents.

Professor Dr Wim Meeus has been awarded the EARA Lifetime Achievement Award 2016. This award is given biennially by the European Association for Research on Adolescence to one scholar whose overall program of work has had a significant impact on our understanding of development and behaviour during adolescence. The EARA Lifetime Achievement Award was founded in 2004 to honor EARA’s founding president.

Stefanie Nelemans

Researcher Dr Stefanie Nelemans has been awarded the EARA Young Scholar Award 2016. The Young Scholar Award is given biennially by the European Association for Research on Adolescence to one young scholar whose dissertation resulted in published empirical or theoretical studies in international journals that significantly contribute to the understanding of adolescence and adolescent development. Stefanie wrote her dissertation in the division of Youth and Family at Utrecht University. She is currently working as a postdoc at the Catholic University Leuven and from January onwards will continue as a postdoc at Utrecht university.
